Monthly Membership Meeting: May 12 – Twenty-two members and friends gathered at FOURK Restaurant for dinner and to visit with fellow Porsche enthusiasts. Among this number were new members and first-time attendees Brian and Aimee Taylor. Not only are they new PCA members but first time Porsche owners as well. We were happy to present them with our new member gift bag. Also new to the Hickory Area is long time PCA member David Powell who recently moved to Morganton. We look forward to their participation in future activities.
There was no formal program planned but we did spend some time discussing Crossnore Communities for Children and why we continue to support their programs.
This evening’s raffle yielded three winners:• Jenn Lane won a Porsche/Carolinas Region branded sling bag• Ron Perry won a set of slate coasters• Isabella Buchanan won a digital device charger/wire organizer.
As a result of the raffle, we were able to raise $245.00 to support Crossnore Communities for Children. Thank you all who participated.
Drive and Dine/Spring Picnic – May 30: Since this event was scheduled after the date required for TR submission, we will report on it next month.
We need some help! As you know, PCA is a volunteer organization. We need your help and involvement to assure the Carolinas Region and Hickory Area continues to provide the kinds of programs and events you have come to value. I, along with wife Jane, have functioned as Director(s) of the Hickory Area for more than ten years. Though it has been a pleasure to do so, we also have other interests.
Consequently, we are asking for a volunteer to assume the role of Area Driving Tour Coordinator to help plan, coordinate and sometimes lead (with the help of others) our monthly driving events.
